With Petronella McGovern, Louise Wolhuter, Nadine Browne

When

to

Crime With Wine is back this November. Not had enough crime at Totally Lit? Missed out on Festival of Fiction tickets? Maybe you just need a little bookish amuse bouche full of drinks, food and great chat? We've got you covered!

Featuring super exciting extra special guest, best-selling thriller writer Petronella McGovern on stage alongside WA Premier's Award winning author of Shadows of Winter Robins, my friend, your friend, Louise Wolhuter. Completing the panel with fresh local talent, Nadine Browne, whose debut novel Gone Guru was recently called "a clever and funny caper" by the Guardian.

Our guest authors will be discussing their new books and all things crime - favourite detectives and why it is Maigret, must watch TV (anyone else devour The Killings at Parrish Station on Stan?), inspiration for their novels, writing insights, and best way to murder somebody (on the page, honest!) followed by the opportunity for audience questions and book signings.

Seating will be cabaret style at tables. Dinner service will be available from the bar.

Approx times:
6pm - Doors open
6.45pm - Panel discussion & readings
8.15pm - Book sales, signings, photo ops

Petronella McGovern

Petronella McGovern is fascinated by people–what makes us tick, how we view the world, and the lies we tell each other and ourselves. She's interested in the complexities of relationships and family dynamics. Petronella is the best-selling author of Six Minutes, The Good Teacher, The Liars and The Last Trace. Her books have been nominated in the Ned Kelly Awards, the Davitt Awards and the Indie Book Awards.

Petronella has a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and tutors in creative writing. She grew up on a farm in central west NSW and now lives with her family in Sydney on Gadigal Country. You can follow her on Instagram and Facebook.

Louise Wolhuter

Louise Wolhuter grew up in northern England and moved to Queensland (in a roundabout way), before settling in Perth to raise a family. Author of An Afterlife for Rosemary Lamb (2022) and Shadows of Winter Robins (2024), she writes what she terms ‘twisty fiction’ with a focus on lives that creep up on people and there being more to everyone than meets the eye. She currently works as an Education Assistant in a primary school, which leaves her early mornings, weekends and school holidays to write.

Nadine Browne

Nadine Browne is a prose writer, poet and essayist. Her work has been featured in Overland, The Massachusetts Review and ABC Australia. She is the author of the short story collection The Whip Hand with Michaela Nicolescu. Her debut novel is Gone Guru. She received an MFA in fiction at New York University, where she was a Starworks Fellow.
